Inpatient Care Coordinator I - Full Time, Days (Remote)

This position supports Emergency Department, Transition of Care and Fax Coordination functions for the Inpatient Care Management team.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manages the fax Queues.
  • Uploads all Hospital Documents post discharge into IDX or Essette.
  • Opens authorizations for new admissions.
  • Manages the inpatient call queue during lunch breaks for Coordinator II
  • Checks the fax pod census x3 a day and assigns as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Reviews daily hospital census and faxes and enter any new admissions into Essette and notifies inpatient case manager of admission prior to 9:50am OR Reviews daily hospital census and calls hospitals for discharge dates, enter discharge date into Essette prior to 9:50am.


Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. This position is entry level and will be trained.

Minimum Experience: Customer Service or Medical Experience preferred. HMO/Medical Group experience preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Medical Terminology certificate preferred.
